Net Worth Tracker

Take a monthly snapshot of assets minus debts. Watch the line cross zero, then climb. Single most motivating number in personal finance.

📖 About this tool

What it does

Manual monthly snapshots of assets minus debts, persisted in your browser, charted over time. The single most motivating number in personal finance — watch the line cross zero, then climb.

Who this helps

Anyone tracking their financial trajectory. Especially good for people who pay down debt or stack savings in small monthly increments — the chart shows that compounding visually.

How to use it

  1. Enter your current assets (cash, retirement, home value, vehicle, other) and debts (mortgage, auto, credit cards, student loans, other).
  2. Pick a snapshot date (default: this month).
  3. Click Save Snapshot — it stamps the date and stores in your browser.
  4. Come back monthly and update; the trajectory chart and 'Avg Monthly Change' stat fill in over time.
  5. Click any past date in the table to reload that snapshot's numbers.

What it doesn't do

Snapshots live in your browser localStorage — clearing browser data wipes them. Logged-in users can also save the full history as a named scenario for cross-device persistence.
